The Colne Valley Classic & Vintage Club was formed in 1989 to encourage interest in historic, vintage, classic cars and motorcycles.New members are always welcome.
The club encourages members with a general interest in classic and vintage motoring. With this open agenda the club is able to attract members of all ages and background and has a varied and eclectic range of members cars, motorcycles and three-wheelers from Vintage to 'Modern' classics
Although the club is based in the Colne Valley the clubs membership extends from Chelmsford to Bury St Edmunds and from Frinton to Haverhill, So effectively its the three valleys car club! The Colne, the Stour and the Blackwater valleys.
The club meets on the third Thursday of each month at Great Maplestead Village Hall, The Hall is just two miles from Halstead, A131 and the same distance from Castle and Sible Hedingham on the A 1017. These meetings often feature a guest speaker, topics are varied, not allways motoring themed, local history and aviation are amongst the talks given. Partners and family members are welcomed.
Other evenings feature "Noggin & Natter" nights and we hold annual car and motorcycle shows (where members vote for the car/bike they would most like to take home with them). Plus a annual motoring themed Quiz night at the November meeting.
We also hold mid day meet ups on the last Thursday of each month at various locations (details can be found on the "Events" page of this website) in the clubs catchment area, this is to try and ensure a meet-up is local to our widespread membership..
The club is Motorsport UK registered and organises a number of club runs throughout the year. The premier event is the 100 mile 'Cento-Miglia' run usually in the spring. This event attracts a large and varied entry list.
The club has an annual dinner, usually held in the summer, where various trophies are presented to members.
All events have one objective in common - to have an enjoyable social event, using our classic and vintage transport in the process.
